Insect repellent, reasons to use.There are a few reasons why you should want to use insect repellent to help prevent bites and stings.

Insects carry disease such as encephalitis, West Nile virus and Lyme disease. Although incidence may seem low, these diseases are easily transferred by biting insects like mosquitoes and ticks. Some diseases can be difficult to treat and turn into a life-long problem.

Insects can cause pain and misery. Depending on your sensitivity to insect bites and stings, they can result in painful itching, rashes, welts and hives. Serious reactions to bee stings can cause nausea, headache, fever, dizziness, and in most severe cases, anaphylaxis. If a person is having a serious reaction to a bee sting it is important to call 911 or take them to the emergency room immediately.
